On Tuesday, Nov. 6, Mrs. Julie Nass from CESA 6, gave a 30-minute presentation regarding the Youth Apprenticeship Program .  We had many students express interest in this after the Career Fair last year, and FVL has been working toward a plan in partnership with CESA 6 to provide some opportunities in multiple career fields.   Click here to view the slide presentation

This information session was for current sophomore, junior, and senior students and their parents, though only current juniors and seniors can participate in the 2nd Semester program this year.

The goal of the Youth Apprenticeship Program is to match up qualified students with an employer who will give them the authentic career experience that they are looking for (i.e. construction, financial services, manufacturing, etc). Students receive pay from the employer, school release time if necessary/allowed, and on the job technical skills and training.

The application form was emailed to all junior and senior student's and their parents on 11/7.  Before applying, please read 'What makes a Good YA Candidate'

If you or someone you know is interested in offering a paid apprenticeship opportunity to high school students in the Fox Valley area, please provide the following information: Name, Title, Business Address, Phone Number, and email so we can forward it to Mrs. Nass at CESA 6.

Please contact Mr. Craig Charron (ccharron@fvlhs.org) or Mrs. Amy Gilmet (agilmet@fvlhs.org) if you have any questions.
