Orientation Days - Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21

Students will only have to attend 1 of the 2 days…

  •  Monday, August 20th:
    • 8:45 – 11:00 Returning Sophomores (including Int’l Students) and Domestic Transfer Students
    • 9:45 – 12:00 Returning Juniors (including Int’l Students) and Domestic Transfer Students
    • 10:45 – 1:00 Returning Seniors (including Int’l Students) and Domestic Transfer Students
  • Tuesday, August 21st:
    • 7:45 – 1:45 Freshmen (hot lunch is provided, no fee)
    • 7:45 – 3:00 New International Students (hot lunch is provided, no fee)


A Query Form has been set up so that you can easily find out which forms have and have not been submitted, and can find the date of the most recent Physical or Alternate Year Card on file at FVL. 

  • Required Forms for All Students:
  •  Students Interested in Athletics:
    • Physical/Alternate Year Card Submission and Info Form
      All Athletes Only – Either the physical (from April 1, 2018 or later) or an Alternate Year Card (if your physical was between April 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018) must be submitted no later than the first day of tryouts/practice. Both the Physical and the Alternate Year Card can be downloaded from the Forms page of our website.
    • Fall Athletic Interest Form
      Please complete this form if your student is interested in trying out for a fall sport. This form will help our coaches better prepare for the beginning of the fall season, and it gives them a way to reach out to you if they have any information to share about tryouts.
  • All forms can be found on our website: > Parents > Forms – all forms are due by 8/20 or by the first day of try-outs/practice, whichever comes first.

Dress Code

  • Modesty, good taste, cleanliness, and neatness must be important factors to consider when getting ready for school Modesty and good taste refer to avoiding such things as inappropriate T-Shirts, extremes in hairstyle, and short skirts and shorts. Cleanliness neatness refer to the student’s general appearance and the condition of the student’s clothes which should not be worn-out, torn or dirty.

School Supplies

A school supply list can be found on our website > Parents Tab > School Supply list. If you have forgotten the
courses chosen for this school year, please log in to Skyward Family Access and click on the Schedule tab on the left side (please
note, the course order is not finalized until mid-August). New families to FVL, please see the New Students to FVL section below for Skyward Family Access login information.

Athletic Information

  • Students interested in trying out for a fall sport should fill out the Fall Athletic Interest Form.
  • All athletes must have a physical exam form on file at FVL, and must have either a Physical or Alternate Year Card on file that was signed on or after April 1, 2018. You can find out when your last physical was and which of these forms you need by completing the Query Form.
  • Parents of ALL FVL athletes must attend a meeting on Monday, 8/20 at 7 pm in the auditorium. Parents with only Winter/Spring athletes can attend an alternate meeting on Monday, 11/19 at 6:30 pm.
  • Changes in Canteen Volunteering – NEW this year.
    • Beginning this year, parents of FVL athletes will have the ability to “opt out” of volunteering in the canteen and the Foxes Locker.
    • In order to “opt out” families will be required to pay $100 per student-athlete in the family.
    • If a family decides to “opt in” to volunteering, the family will be required to complete roughly 6-8 volunteering shifts throughout the year/athlete.
    • Detailed information will be shared at the parent meeting for individual sports as well as the all-sport parent meeting on August 20th. Please attend these meetings if you are able.

School Events Color Calendar

Due to the school expansion this summer, a monthly school wall calendar will not be sent home this year. Please visit our website, and click on FVL Calendar for the most up-to-date listing of FVL’s events. (Months can be printed for
your convenience, by clicking the drop-down arrow in the More Tab and clicking on Print.)

Reduced Price Lunch Application:

Families who feel they may be eligible for a Reduced Lunch Plan should complete the application form found on our website
under Parents > Forms > Food Service > Optional Form and return it to the School Office by August 17th to see if they qualify.
Those families who are a part of the WI School Choice Program, be sure to apply for this government-funded program.

 Host Families for International Students: 

All host families assigned an International Student for the 18-19 school year, are required to attend an Orientation Meeting on
Monday, 8/13 at 6:30 pm in the Writing Lab (off of the Media Center, room 2628). More details about the meeting will be sent

New FVL Students:

  • Mentor home visit - Each FVL student is assigned a teacher as his/her mentor. For the most part, mentor groups consist of 16-20 students from all 4-grade levels. They sit as a group in chapel and once each month as they study God’s Word together in the mentor’s classroom. The mentor helps new students adjust to high school life and is there to assist students during their years at FVL. Mentor will phone in late July/early August to set up an appointment to visit the student and family at home. During this visit, the mentor will…
    • Share how to log into Skyward Family Access. Skyward is the online student management system through which families have access to grades, lunch account, schedules, attendance and much more.
    • Share instructions on how to complete the Student/Parent Handbook Agreement in Skyward in Skyward Family Access.
    • Share how to set up the online payment plan for hot lunch (e-Funds).
    • Share your student’s class schedule.
    • Share the 1- to - 1 information about laptop use.
  • Skyward Family Access
    • During the mentor visit, you will receive information on how to access Skyward Family Access. If you would like to access it prior to the visit, please follow the following instructions...
      • Go to, click on Skyward Family Access tab found on the top grey bar of the home screen.
      • If you are a returning family, log in. If you have forgotten your password or are a new family to FVL, click on Forgot your Login/Password.
      • Enter your email address and follow the prompts sent to you. All new families, please note, that you need to enter the email address that was used when completing the online application.
